Nutritional Therapy Consultation

Sheila Kristeen Brito, BSc DipNT MBANT (UK)

Sheila is a Registered Nutritionist (UK) trained in the Functional Nutrition framework. She has special interests in autoimmune and chronic conditions, gut health, cellular health, dietary nucleotides and recovery nutrition. She is a Registered Nutritional Therapist (RNT) in the UK, and professionally registered in Australia. As a RNT, she is trained in Functional Testing.

As per BANT guidelines, if you are low in specific vitamins or minerals, have an imbalanced fat intake, are short of protein or eating the wrong type of carbohydrates, making small changes to your diet could make a difference. This is where a nutritional therapist can help.

Nutritional Therapy works well alongside conventional medicine. It is NOT meant to replace your medical practitioner's advice. It is most helpful for people who may have been experiencing sub optimal health, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.

Registered Nutritional Therapists rely on your GP for diagnoses. If you are suffering from any health condition you should always consult your GP first. Functional tests look at how well your body is working. Sheila will work in collaboration with your GP for the best and safe practice, reporting nutritional assessments and recommendations.

Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend tailored nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

During your Nutritional Therapy consultation, Sheila will:

* Review your complete health history and that of your family
* Ask about your current and past symptoms and how they have changed

* Look at your diet and lifestyle
* Assess your nutritional status
* Offer functional testing where   appropriate

* Devise a unique plan with you to implement manageable changes to support better health

Personalised food plans to support food allergies and intolerances, autoimmune conditions, gut health, low energy levels, anxiety, atopic and chronic conditions, children and women's health.
